Art for Israel: An Evening of Support

The healing power of community was the theme of the night for this meaningful Bear Givers event at the Manny Cantor Center Rooftop in Manhattan.

We were honored to feature the stunning artwork of David Stahl and canvases painted by children with disabilities who participated in our EmpowerArt program, all to benefit the Shalva National Crisis Response Center.

Shalva is providing life-saving care for hundreds of evacuees from Israel's South and North, including clothing, medications and supplies, and social service support. Guests heard inspiring remarks from Executive Director of American Friends of Shalva , Leo Klein, who spoke of the organization’s important work at the Center. Specifically, it has already helped 200 families who were evacuated from a community on the southern Israeli border and is preparing to receive up to 1,000 additional evacuees. In addition to this, Shalva set up a temporary school and a day care program where children are being given the emotional and psychological support they need.

We appreciate the opportunity to do our part in giving back and thank all of our generous attendees.
