It was a beautiful day to take some Great Strides in support of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation - Greater New York Chapter. We were very glad to contribute to this important cause, and to donate teddy bears wearing the CFF logo on their shirts to walkers of all ages.

The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation was formed in 1955 by a group of concerned parents facing insurmountable odds, but determined to save the lives of their children. At the time, very little was known about cystic fibrosis, but the tenacity and strength of CF families laid the groundwork for monumental progress in research, care, and treatment of a rare disease. Today, because of their hard work and the support of generous volunteers and donors, many people with CF are living into adulthood. Diane's dear friend Melissa Shiffman pictured here was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis at the age of 5. She recently served as the National Advocacy Co-Chair for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and continues to advocate in Washington, D.C. and New York on behalf of the Foundation for policies that will help extend and better the lives of people with CF and their families.
