Power is back for many across the five boroughs, but for many more the black-out continues as the emotional repercussions of Hurricane Sandy linger on. Many families are still picking up the pieces with the help of neighbors and foundations that are helping re-build lives as well as hope, and many children are left toy-less and scared amid the debris.

We are dedicated to doing our part in restoring hope. By donating a few thousand Teddy Bears to organizations like Goodwill and The Salvation Army, among others, Bear Givers will be distributing Teddy Bears to children and victims of the hurricane to provide comfort and companionship, offering, during these cold dark days, a healthy dose of warmth and joy, making the light at the end of the tunnel a little brighter.

Assemblyman Ortiz praises Goodwill & BearGivers for Hurricane ReliefExcerpt from letter written by Assemblyman Felix Ortiz to Goodwill Industries of  Greater NY & NJ:

"I am writing to thank you and Bear Givers, Inc. for your kind donation of teddy bears that I was able to distribute to a local school in time for the holidays. Your caring support and generosity brought much-needed smiles and comfort to the children of Red Hook, Brooklyn who were greatly impacted by Hurricane Sandy."
