Beit Issie ShapiroJuly 2013 - Park Chaverim ("Friends Park"), Israel's first accessible and inclusive playground for children with and without disabilities, was developed by Beit Issie Shapiro.

At a special year end activity, children from two different kindergartens, one catering to students with special needs, played together and had a wonderful time.

Children gave out teddy bears donated by Bear Givers as way to remember their time together that day. The children were all touched by the message of what it means to give.  The children with developmental needs, who so often find themselves in a position of receiving, were thrilled by the role reversal, allowing them to experience the pleasure of giving, in many cases, for the first time.
