Bear Givers Visits The Chris Evert Children’s Hospital

Letters of gratitude to Bear Givers from the Chris Evert Children's Hospital

September 2015

Dear Diane and the Members of the Bear Givers Organization,

You did it again.  On behalf of all of our pediatric patient community and those that care for them, please allow me to express our deepest gratitude for your kindness and generosity in donating the amazing, beautiful teddy bears ( so Adorable!) to be used with our pediatric patients!

We were in desperate need of teddy bears to be used throughout the Chris Evert Children's Hospital. You answered our call to abundance. Our Team so looks forward to receiving your teddy bears  as we know that each new friend that  you send to us  is sent with wishes and love for our pediatric patients. Your kindness has helped us to brighten the day of our kids, showering the patient and their room with cuddles of warmth. It is so very much appreciated by the children, their families and the staff at large.

We are all so very grateful to you and The Bear Givers Organization for all that you do to support us in our mission to assist the children we share!

You're countless acts of kindness and generosity makes a world of difference! A simple "Thank You" does not appear to cover it.

With Admiration and Gratitude,

Chris Evert

Dear Diane Lempert,

On behalf of all of our pediatric patients and those that care for them, please allow me to express our deepest gratitude for your kindness and generosity displayed this holiday season as evident by your donation of teddy bears to our pediatric units.

We were so happy to greet you, seeing first-hand how brilliantly you were able to provide support, compassion and fun for “our” children… The patients enjoyed sharing your smiles to say nothing of presents that you gave from the heart. You truly brightened their world, illustrating the true meaning of this very special time of year.

We are honored to partner with you.

With Admiration and Gratitude,

“I was proud to make someone happy. It made me feel good inside to help someone else.” -Taylor, Student, South Florida Jewish Academy
“The feeling the children get when they take that physical bear and that card they created to someone else is very empowering.” -Joseph Sprung, Founder and CEO, Bear Givers
“Children from the school who give one of these bears away also get to keep one for themselves. It is a great way for students to feel good about making a difference in someone’s life.”
“This is a unique opportunity, where the clients who are often the recipients of goodwill, are now empowered to enhance the lives of others.” -Derek Saker, Director of Communications, OHEL
“Children can also be ‘benefactors.’ The program teaches children that when they do an act of kindness, they receive something in return. When children give away a teddy bear, they receive a teddy bear to take home. The principle seems quite simple, but the result is truly amazing. Children at SLCD identified charitable organizations in other states and countries. They wrote letters to the children in these other programs and sent teddy bears to ‘make other children feel better.’ Despite severe developmental disabilities, each child had something to say about giving a gift. ‘I sent my teddy bear to a little boy in Mexico. He doesn’t have parents. I have a mommy and a daddy. He must be very sad.’ Children’s insights are precious. Letters were then received from the children who received the teddy bears.”
