UNMC College of Nursing — Teddy Bear Clinic
We recently had the pleasure of partnering with the University of Nebraska Medical Center's College of Nursing to host a heartwarming Teddy Bear Clinic at a local children’s museum for “Free Family Fun Night.” More than 200 children practiced medical exams on their cuddly Bear Givers teddys. The event created a safe and playful environment for children to learn about healthcare and medicine from caring medical students. Students from every specialty participated and walked children through the clinic, including those in occupational therapy, physical therapy, physician assistant, medical laboratory science, radiology, and nursing. We witnessed the joy and excitement in the children's eyes as they played doctor and nurtured their furry friends. It was a heartwarming reminder of the power of education through play, empathy, and community building.
We are immensely grateful to the UNMC’s College of Nursing for collaborating with us to make this event a success!
